PHO - Doing the Clinical Event Export using MedTech

Please ensure that you have updated to the lastest version of the MedTech Clinical Event Export - "CPI Export and GMS Claims Update (December 2010)"

These are the settings that Karo is recommending that you tick. If you are not happy with these selections please contact Karo or your PHO to discuss the options you wish to choose instead.

  • 1. Go to the computer that runs Health Link (usually the server)
  • 2. Open MedTech
  • 3. Click on Utilities
  • 4. Select LinkTech
  • 5. Select PHO Clinical Event
  • The following screen should appear - please tick exactly the same boxes as are ticked in this picture! - then click on OK

Please check in the Destination section at the bottom of this screen that the output file has .pmd on the end of it.
(NOTE: If it has .lce at the end of it you have ticked the box that says 'Export to LinkTech using the LinkTech 'lce' format'.)

When you tick the 'Export Clinical Performance Information' box you will be prompted with the following message

Please read this prior to clicking 'Yes', if you don't wish to export this please notify your PHO that is what you are doing.

If you need to change your Smoking Screening or CVDR Assessment settings then see below for instructions

If HealthLink is NOT installed on the C: drive then you will need to choose the 'Folder' Option in the Destination section
- you will then need to browse to the ...HLINK\FF_out\CGC or ...HLINK\FF_out\KARO folder and select it!

Please be patient while the file is created - it may take a little while

If you can send an email to pho@karo.co.nz  to let us know you have sent it then we can let you know if it doesn't arrive!

Modify CPI Screening Codes

If you have either installed a CVD Risk Analysis Tool or set up a Smoking Screening that is not mapped to READ codes then you need to configure those for this export.
To do this click on the 'Modify CPI Screening Codes' button.

The following screen should appear:

CVD Risk Assessment This screen allows the possibility of using multiple CVD Risk Assessment Screening Codes. However the most important thing is to have it correct for the one you are currently using. It is our understanding that for Predict, Best Practice and EDGE the codes (although not the prompt) are all the same.
Screening Code: CVD Risk(CVR)
Value No: (1) (value one has different words depending on your tool

You can use the Remove and the Add buttons to get the correct screening codes and values into this screen.
To add a new one select the appropriate options for the Screening Code and Value No and then click on the ADD button (example below).

If you are using one of the standard tools then the screen should look like this once you have finished.

Smoking
We strongly recommend that you map screening values to READ codes in the tool that you are using for your smoking screening.
If you have done that (within the last year or so) then we will receive those results and all you need to do is Tick - "No smoking status mapping required"
So it will look like the screens below:

However if you are still (or have been until recently) using an unmapped screening template then you will need to complete the smoking tab.
Refer to the MedTech 19.4 Release Notes and if that doesn't make sense then give us a call.

Once you have complete this click on OK to go back to the main screen.
